ESROCKING THE WORLD'S LARGEST TEDx
Vancouver's Orpheum Theatre hosted the 2012 TEDx Vancouver, attracting over 2500 people eager to engage with ideas famously worth spreading.
Joining speakers that included a marine biologist, a seduction expert, and leaders in the fields of charity, business, psychology and cyber-security, Robin took the stage for a fun, inspirational talk about the important lessons he's learned on the road. Peppered with powerful images and stories collected from his journey to over 100 countries on 6 continents, Robin recounted how his unlikely start as a travel writer took him to destinations he could only imagine, teaching him valuable life lessons that apply as much on the road as they do to living life at home. He also toyed with the idea of stepping off the red carpet, which might have blown up the internet. The laughs and applause came thick and fast, with Robin's personal stories and personable presence proving to be one of the day's highlight talks. Streamed around the world and shared through social media, Robin's hopeful, positive ideas continue to be spread. TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. This was the 4th sold out TEDx Vancouver, and the largest TEDx event ever held. As is custom with TED videos, Robin's story will be posted for all to share in the near future. |
